What is a search engine? The Search engine helps you to find information on the Internet. To use a search engine, you must enter a word (or words) that you expect will be in the Web pages you're looking for. The search engine will look through its collection of documents for Web pages containing the keyword. How Search Engines Work? Search engine databases are selected and built by computer robot programs called spiders. If a web page is never linked to in any other page, search engine spiders cannot find it. After spiders find pages, they pass them on to another computer program for "indexing." Spiders Computer robot programs, referred to sometimes as "crawlers". They are used by search engines to browse the World Wide Web via the Internet and keep the search engine database of web pages up to date. They obtain new pages, update known pages, and delete obsolete ones. Design and setup problems As far as the search engines are concerned if you are using frames you've got problems. Because |
